Frequently Asked Questions
How long do Wondergy shows last?
Good question. It’s not our program, it’s theirs. We don’t use scripts, and often vary the program based on guests’ questions. An average birthday party lasts about 2 hours with a 15 minute break for food in the middle. Assemblies tend to run 1 hour. We can fit into almost any schedule.
Are other topics available?
Absolutely! Wondergy specializes in custom program development, from a family day about your company’s technology to making science concepts relevant to your celebration. Let our lasers animate your logo or message for special events or ceremonies.
Can we mix programs together?
Our goal is to have as much fun as a “magic show” but not become one. Keeping all the fun related to a single topic allows people to “get it.” We have ways to vary most programs for sophisticated or repeat audiences. Let us know how we can serve your community best.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Everything can be made vegan, sugar-free, peanut-free, non-dairy (pareve), or Kosher (even Cholov Yisroel), upon request.
What do we need to provide?
Curiosity! And an electric outlet, rectangular table, and a place to park. Most Wondergy programs are designed to fit into small homes, and can be scaled for large assemblies and events. We recommend a space with at least twice as much room as your guests take up. LaserScience requires a dark room taller than 13 feet, and fog will be used which might activate smoke detectors.
How much space do you need?
We can adapt to virtually any space, but we like to have active kids at times, and to keep party-goers at a safe distance from certain experiments [objects? supplies?]. Pretend you will have twice as many guests as you actually do, and there will be plenty of room. Programs with special space requirements are explicity noted on the 
programs page. If you believe you have a small space, let us know and we will adjust accordingly.
Can we split the program in half? Order two? Six? Nine?
Multiple programs at the same location are a great way to save money and time for everyone. Try to keep programs in the same place and spaced closely throughout the day, with a break between every 2-4 programs if possible. For standard programs, most options are listed on the prices page. For custom-developed and adapted programs, we will offer custom-developed prices for you.
Can you do something special for my child/family/etc...?
We want to know your celebrant's interests! Let us know what topics (science, sports, music, whatever) make them wonder, and we will try to involve those topics in our programs where relevant. Science is everywhere. You'll be surprised!
We often mention and involve the celebrant and their special day in fun and topical ways. Singing Happy Birthday and Blowing out the candles has never been this much fun. If you have a special request, let us know!
Who will present my program?
All Wondergy scientists are university-trained scientists, and truly love what they do. We do not hire "actors," as every party is different and driven by your group's questions. Our presenters are thoroughly prepared to engage your group. Check out their bios!
The Wondergy scientist I saw was great! Can I request him or her?
Sure! We will try to accommodate requests based on availability and distance from the presenter's main area.
Do you work with schools?
Yes! We present programs for elementary, middle, and high schools. We also offer teacher training classes to encourage hands-on science for everyday.
Do you require a Deposit?
